Seven of Cebu’s top teams come together on Sunday, November 20, 2022 for the Mandani Bay Football Invitational Cup 2022, once again igniting the active lifestyle embodied by the landmark community.
The one-day tournament will be held at the Mandani Bay Interim Park at Mandani Bay Ave. cor F. E. Zuellig Ave., Mandaue City, kicking off at 8:00 a.m. Entrance is free.
Participating in the competition are the promising young heroes and heroines of the Cebu Football Club Academy, Ateneo de Cebu, Benthel Asia School of Technology, St. Theresa’s College, Corona del Mar, Don Bosco Youth Center and Lapulapu United.
“Not only will the tournament be exciting for the athletes, it will surely trigger an adrenaline rush for football fans in Cebu, particularly as we root for young and extremely capable players,” said Gilbert Ang, Mandani Bay Project Director.
The young performers will clash at mixed matches for Under-13s, Under-11s, Under-9s and Under-7s. Mix Under-7s will play 5-v-5 while the other age groups will battle 6-on-6.
Top winners will be awarded gold trophies and medals. Runners-up will bring home plaques and silver medals.
Various events promoting the active lifestyle and a strong sense of community have been held in-person at Mandani Bay with increasing frequency as Cebu rapidly recovers from the COVID-19 lockdowns.
Mandani Bay Football Invitational Cup 2022 underscores the Mandani Bay passions for adventure and creativity. It is the first of its kind to be held at the community and sets the stage for hosting similar athletic events in the future.
